Connect to the Edge --> Adult Ministries Adult Ministries want to serve individuals in the community by sharing Christ with them, training and encouraging them in their Christian walk, and caring for them as members of the family of faith. Whether it's through our men's, women's, senior adult, singles ministry, community groups, divorce care or community awareness ministry we offer a place for people to get involved, build community and grow in Christ together. Click on a link below for more information regarding each ministry. DivorceCare Thursdays at 7:00 PM New 13-week session will begin in January 5, 2012. DivorceCare is a friendly, caring group of people who will walk alongside you through one of life’s most difficult experiences. Don’t go through separation or divorce alone. DivorceCare seminars and support groups are led by people who understand what you are going through and want to help. You’ll gain access to valuable DivorceCare resources to help you deal with the pain of the past and look forward to rebuilding your life. If you are looking to find help and healing for the hurt of separation and divorce, become involved in this ministry. DivorceCare is a ministry of encouragement, information and sharing. Edgewood’s community focused groups meet each week for a time of study, sharing, praise and prayer. We are reminded that God created each of us for relationships: Relationship with Him, relationship with our Church family, and relationship with our friends and community. Community Groups are a key opportunity for connecting with others to develop and expand these relationships by sharing together and by studying the Bible together. All of our family, friends and visitors are welcome and encouraged to join a small group. While many of our church family already experience the blessings and benefits of small group activity, the focus of each group is outreach and keeping current members plugged into the body. As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another. - Proverbs 27:17 It's not easy being a man in a culture that isn't sure what manliness is. Have you ever considered how it got so crazy? Maybe we've been trying to live life on the wrong terms. Maybe it's time to do it on His terms. That's why the Edgewood Men's Ministry exists. We work to equip men with the tools they need to find peace and purpose in their roles as leaders, husbands, fathers and friends. We want to help men learn how to balance work and family life, build stronger marriages, become better fathers, grow spiritually and enjoy Christian fellowship. We would like to invite you to become a part of the Women's Ministry at Edgewood, where we fellowship and serve together in faith, love and unity. Our mission is to be women who are committed to a deepening relationship with Christ through diligent prayer and the study of the Scriptures. As a result, we pray to be spiritually mature women, confident in our gifts and courageous in our words, so we can reach out in love to impact our church and community for Christ. There are numerous opportunities available to get involved. Through in-depth Bible studies, heartwarming fellowships and special events offered throughout the year, you will have meaningful and fulfilling opportunities to enrich your heart, encourage your spirit and expand your ministry. Edgewood’s Singles Ministry provides a comfortable atmosphere for singles to strengthen their relationships with the Lord and develop meaningful relationships with each other. Through Bible studies, fellowships and service projects, this ministry strives to share God's truth about life and how it relates to the relationships and responsibilities of single adults. Edgewood’s CAW provides continuous activities throughout the year targeted at exposure of our family and church to people who are not members. It desires to equip and encourage the body of Christ to help meet the physical and spiritual needs of those in the Mansfield area. Jesus speaks of meeting such needs in Luke 4:18-19, “The Spirit of the Lord is on Me, because He has anointed me to preach Good News to the poor. He has sent Me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.” I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. - John 10:10b The abundant life in Christ defines how many Edgewood senior adults are living their lives. The Senior Adult Ministry seeks to honor God by providing opportunities for senior adults to grow spiritually, fellowship with one another and reach lost and unchurched senior adults in the community. Through Bible studies, outreach opportunities and involvement in various ministries, this growing ministry also encourages senior adults not to "retire" in their service to Christ. Come be a part of this vibrant and active ministry. |
